Mystery Skype Call

Yesterday we had our first Mystery Skype call.  We guessed where our friends were.  We guessed where they were a lot faster than Mrs. Maksymchuk thought we would.  Our friends go to Bonnycastle School in Winnipeg.  We got to use google maps on our iPads and it was tricky,but fun! Some of the 3Bs came to help us solve the mystery skype.  It was a lot of fun.  After we guessed where each other's class lives, we learned a little about each other's school and community.  We learned that the kids at Bonnycastle School speak French during their school day. Our new friends have over 500 students at their school.  We think they were surprised to hear that 7 of us live on either a farm or ranch.  It was really neat and we look forward to skyping with them next week and talking about the Global Read Aloud book that we are both reading, Fish In A Tree.

An extra surprise that Mrs. Maks didn't know about was that a teacher who used to work at Taylor School now teaches there and surprised us by saying hello too!
