How to Sell a House

We were very grateful to welcome Tyan's mom, Mrs. Mykula, to our class this am.  She willingly shared her knowledge of how to sell houses with the class as we're working on writing For sale ads for the 3D haunted houses we created.  She inspired us with many ideas to add to our writing and she talked about how important it is to use some creative adjectives....which also came in handy, since we're learning about how adjectives make our writing more exciting for our audience when they're reading our piece.

Marty McGuire Chapter 5

We were working on illustrating our connections to Chapter 4 while we listened to Chapter 5 today.  We could all connect with listening to our parents on the phone and then having a discussion with our parent.  We made some predictions about what might happen next:

• Laina and Brooklyn think that Marty's Mom is going to find some material with a frog print on it to make her princess dress out of.
• Torrie thinks Marty will be grounded until she decides to be the princess in the play.
• Liam F thinks she might run to her grandparent's if they live no too far away.  If they live in the country, she might hide out in the bushes by their place.
• Stormi thinks she will just get stubborn and not do it.  She will ruin the play for everyone.
• Cloe thinks she will go to Annie's house.
• Rayna thinks she might go to Annie's and ask her to be the princess for her, because Marty really doesn't want to do it.

Marty McGuire Chapter 4

Today we focused on making connections as this will be part of our contributions to Ms. Lirenman's GRA Marty McGuire Collaborative Project. We are going to select one of the connections we made to the story and illustrate it.  This was definitely a fun chapter to read!  We loved trying to imagine Sparky saying bad words in raccoon language!  (Some of us even tried it out in class... good thing no one understood a word they were saying!  Phew!)
