Trading Places

We've been reading a selection in our Nelson Literacy series called Trading Places.  It's an online discussion board about what school was like for kids in pioneer times.  It's a discussion between a teacher and students in her class.  We thought this would be a great time to talk about internet safety and also have a our own discussion!
So, here goes!
I'm wondering if you would like to be a student in pioneer times.  Explain why or why not.

ATV and Snowmobile Safety

Thanks to Terry who gave us a presentation sponsored by MPI about ATV and Snowmobile safety. Here's what we learned:
  • MUST wear proper, approved helmet
  •  Little seats attached to the back of quads aren’t safe
  • make sure the number of people riding, matches what the manufacturer says
  • Proper gear – no bare skin
  • Kids our age may only ride supervised on own property
  • Need permission to go onto someone else’s property.
We thought it was a really interesting presentation.
